Individual Private Workshops Available Throughout the Year
Learn how to weave or expand your weaving skills by learning a new weave structure. We have a three-day workshop where we set up the loom so it’s warped and ready for you to start your project. Fee: $300 (plus materials). We also have a two-week workshop where we teach you how to plan a project, make a warp, dress the loom, and, finally weave. Fee: $500 (plus materials). Group Workshops
The fee for each workshop includes individual instruction as well as the use of the equipment. Materials are extra, Limited enrollment. Call the Weaving Center at 914-332-1948 to register.
Three-Day Beginners’ Workshops:
In the three-day workshops, the looms are warped and ready for you when you arrive. Learn about the warp and weft and how to operate a loom. Learn some new vocabulary as you explore with color and yarns to create a sampler. Each of these workshops is limited to 5 participants. Fee: $250 plus materials.
- Oct. 24 – 26, from 1 pm to 5 pm Register by October 5
- Jan. 9 – 11, from 1 pm to 5 pm Register by December 9
- Feb. 20 – 22, from 1 pm to 5 pm Register by January 20
- April 16 – 18, from 1 pm to 5 pm Register by March 16
Two Week Beginners’ Workshop
Learn (or refresh your knowledge of) how to plan and make a warp, dress the loom, tie it up and weave. Explore with color and texture for your project. Taught on countermarch looms (a limited number of jack looms are available on request). Each of these workshops is limited to 4 participants. Fee: $450 plus materials.
