Who We Are
The Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary treasure the friendships and associations shared with students, faculties, staffs, families, co-workers, and friends over the years. The desire for all to connect in a mutually enriching way led to the global formation of the Sacred Heart of Mary Extended Family and includes women and men from all walks of life who embrace the spirit of the RSHM community and want “to share in the life-giving misson of Jesus Christ.”
In New York, Clare Horn and Pat Healy serve as co-chairs for the SHM Extended Family in the Eastern American Area.
What We Do
Today, the RSHM Institute focuses on justice, peace and the integrity of creation – with an emphasis on helping those on the margins of society. In addition to volunteer opportunities, the SHM Extended Family also offers weekend retreats and days of prayer.
Throughout the world these friends, collaborators and co-ministers share the RSHM mission with their families, colleagues and others they encounter. SHM Extended Family events have been held in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Rome and have included attendance at Area Day conferences, lectures, liturgies, and an annual retreat and days of reflection.
